Ahmed Mukhtar challenges NTDC chief

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Ahmed Mukhtar declared that he and Rasool Khan Mehsood cannot hold their respective posts at the same time, Geo News reported on Monday.

According to sources, Ahmed Mukhtar had issued orders to suspend Managing Director of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) Rasool Mehsood from his position as soon as he took charge of his ministry. However, Rasool Mehsood has not yet left his post.

While speaking to the media here today, Ahmed Mukhtar alleged that Mehsood is using his contacts to retain his position. He challenged to leave his ministry if Mehsood continued working on his position.

While talking about the prevalent issue of loadshedding, Mukhtar termed the transportation issue as the basic commotion and not the fuel dearth.

He also mentioned that Hyderabad faces 8, Lahore 9, Multan 8 and Islamabad experiences seven hours of load-shedding every day.

Ahmed Mukhtar said that KESC has been promised 710 megawatts of electricity on daily basis and efforts are underway to provide that so that the company can generate its own electricity.
