Ministry issues guidelines for foreigners visiting Peshawar, FATA
ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry on Sunday issued new guidelines for the foreigners travelling to Peshawar and Tribal Areas of Pakistan.
According to a notification issued by the ministry, the foreigners considering travelling to Peshawar should submit their requests at least 12 working days in advance for security clearance.
“The guidelines will be implemented on all NGO and aid workers travelling to Peshawar and Tribal Areas,” the statement said. “Foreigners will not be allowed to enter Tribal Areas of Pakistan, nor would they be permitted to contact or take an interview with tribal elders,” it stated. The notification further said that foreigners would not be allowed to carry any weapon or prohibited material during their journey. online
