ECP announces new code of conduct
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced a new code of conduct for the next general elections, Geo News reported.
According to the new guidelines, candidates cannot establish polling camps near polling booths besides providing transport to the voters to come to the polling site.
The code of conduct also places a ceiling on the maximum election expenses for both national and provincial assemblies members at Rs 1.5 million.
A fresh account for the purpose has to be opened by the candidates. Weekly expense details are also to be provided to the commission. The EC has banned wall chalking and use of loudspeakers is limited to the rallies.
