Wish for parliament's supremacy fulfilled: Gilani

LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said it was important for the assembly to complete its five year tenure, not for the prime minister.

Gilani was talking to media upon his arrival at the Lahore airport for the first time since disqualification. "My wish for Parliament's supremacy has been fulfilled,” Gilani said.

Gilani added that his dream of leaving the Prime Minister House gracefully turned into a reality.

Yusuf Raza Gilani was disqualified as the prime minister by the Supreme Court. The former prime minister was convicted by the apex court of contempt for failing to write a letter to Swiss authorities seeking to reopen corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
