Sarabjit's sister denies Surjeet's claims, says brother has not converted
NEW DELHI: The sister of Sarabjit Singh has denied claims made by recently released Indian prisoner Surjeet Singh that her brother had converted to Islam.Surjeet claimed that Sarabjit has converted to Islam along with another Indian prisoner Kirpal Singh imprisoned at the Kot Lakpat jail. According to Surjeet, Sarabjit who had changed his name to Sarfaraz and Kirpal who was now referred to as Muhammad Din might have converted to seek leniency in their sentences.
However the sister for Sarabjit strongly refuted these claims. Dalbir Kaur said that her brother was a Sikh, had always been a Sikh and would remain a Sikh.
