Pak-India altruists urged to put in their efforts

KARACHI: Pakistani and Indian philanthropists should expedite their efforts to alleviate poverty in the region through various practical measures to relief the underprivileged masses of both the countries.

This was stated by Director Lion Clubs International Naresh Agarwal at the Annual Convention of Lions Clubs. The relationship of India with Pakistan is very important for members of Lions Clubs because it helps the efforts of serving humanity on both sides of the border, he stated.

Pakistan matters a lot for India hence businessmen and people of the corporate sector should enhance their efforts to bridge the gulf between the governments of both sides in the best interest of masses, he said.

Multiple Council Chairman, Pakistan M Raza Ali said, corporate sectors and people from different companies are interested to work for the masses under the platform of Lions Clubs International because of the fact that members of the clubs are doing their sincere efforts to provide relief to the masses and to empower the poor peoples.

He said that philanthropists at Lions Clubs have done great job towards welfare of the masses and have left no stone unturned to achieve their targets. The businessmen from various sectors who have become members of Lions Clubs are joining hands to donate their resources, skills and expertise for the welfare of the masses in true letter and spirit, said Ali. He urged that the people of different sectors should come and join Lions Clubs in the largest interest of nation, country and the region, mainly to serve the underprivileged and financially deprived people on the earth.

Chairman Convention Committee Arfan Ali Rashid said that the unity and coordination among the members of Lions clubs will not only make them prominent for being a noble organisation for humanitarian efforts but it will result of prosperity and development of the countries in Pakistan and India alike.

Fasihul Karim Siddiqi said that the Lions Clubs members should come in front to extend assistance to poor masses whatever they can; they should also try to win the hearts and minds of the people through their gestures.
