Shahbaz Sharif files CM nomination papers

LAHORE: PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday filed nomination papers for the slot of Punjab Chief Minister.

Flanked by party’s lawmakers, Shahbaz Sharif handed over his nomination papers to Punjab Assembly Secretary Malik Maqsood Ahmed. The PML-N parliamentary party in the Punjab Assembly had already nominated Shahbaz Sharif for office.

Talking to the media after filing papers, Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N would not disappoint the masses and fulfill all promises it made during the election campaign. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Mian Mehmudur Rashid also filed papers for the slot.

Papers for the office of CM can be filed till June 5 at 5pm and the election will be held the next day.
