PPP-P not to put up any candidate for Punjab leader of the House

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P) Tuesday decided not to put up any candidate for the leader of the House, Geo News reported.

Sources said that no directive has even been yet received for supporting the candidate of either Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Punjab PPP-P Secretary General, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira said that neither PML-N nor PTI has approached his party for seeking support to their candidates for leader of the House and added that if any party approaches, the leadership would be informed and whatever decision taken would be carried out.

On the other hand, it is likely that PPP-P having 7 members in the Punjab Assembly may abstain from the election process for leader of the House like it did in the case of Speaker and deputy Speaker.
