Re-Polling in PS-128 ends, vote count underway
KARACHI: Re-polling at six polling stations of the Sindh Assembly constituency Malir PS-128 ended on Saturday here, while the process of vote count has begun.
Re-polling was carried out on the court orders. As many as 9,500 people would be able to cast their ballots in the re-polling, where a tough contest is between Muttahida Qauim Movement (MQM) candidate Syed Waqar Shah and Muttahida Dini Mahaz (MDM) candidate Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui.
Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had announced boycott of the re-polling.
Pakistan Army troops were deployed in and outside the polling stations along with paramilitary Rangers and police.
