Pakistan to raise drone issue with Kerry during Islamabad visit

ISLAMABAD: The issue of US drone strikes would be on the top of agenda during Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to Islamabad, said Prime Minister Adviser's on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle proposed Pak-US talks in view of Obama’s renewed policy on drones during a meeting with Aziz.

Speaking at a new conference alongside Westerwelle, Aziz said that Pakistan would raise the issue of drone attacks during Kerry’s visit. He added that top level talks would be held over the issue of awarding India the most favored nation status.

The Germen foreign minister who held talks with Sartaj Aziz told media that he was aware that drones were a sensitive issue for Islamabad. Though Wasterwelle didn’t oppose drone attacks, he offered condolence to the families of three US soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

The foreign minister also announced 90.35 million euro German add for Pakistan.
