Sindh govt to legitimise witness protection
Staff Report
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah announced that provincial government will move a bill in Sindh Assembly after budget session to make amendments in Evidence Act for ensuring protection to eyewitnesses.
Shah disclosed this while talking to a delegation of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) headed by Naeem Qureshi who called on him at the C M House here on Saturday.
He said culprits are roaming free due to lack of evidences in courts.
Shah opined that culprits do admit their crimes during investigation by police and Joint Interrogation Teams, but later they are freed from courts after the eyewitnesses don’t come forward due to insecurity.
