The budget session of the House, especially convened on Sunday, was in a state of mourning over the tragic incidents in Balochistan.
Keeping in view the gravity of the tragedy, NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had asked the members to speak on the incidents while debating the budget.
The resolution, moved by Law Minister Zahid Hamid, condemned the inhuman and cowardly acts of terrorism, and said that the entire nation was deeply shocked and grieved at the targeting of Ziarat Residency, which symbolises Pakistan’s historic legacy.
It said that the nation had also been stunned and greatly saddened by the callous targeting of young students, and the terrorist attack on the Bolan Medical College and Hospital Complex in Quetta.
The House condoled with the families of all the innocent students and officers, medical staff, patients and security personnel who lost their lives in the barbaric attacks, and prayed for the souls of all innocent victims and for the early and complete recovery for the injured persons.
The House also condemned the kidnapping of five doctors from Loralai, which took place on June 14.
The House expressed solidarity with the government of Balochistan, and resolved to defeat the nefarious designs of anti-state elements. It also resolved to deal with the province’s critical situation on an emergency basis through national consensual approach so that the grievances of the people of Balochistan were ended and peace and development restored in the province.
Earlier, JUI-F leader Asia Nasar condemned the incidents and said that the Balochistan issue should be taken up seriously, and an integrated strategy should be evolved to deal with the crisis in the province.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raja Amir Zaman termed the burning of Qauid’s Residency an attack on the ideology of Pakistan.
JUI-F’s Maulana Ameer Zaman said that fast deteriorating situation in the province was the work of foreign forces, as he pointed out that India, Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel had their hand in creating the situation.
