Balochistan budget unveiled, Rs 34.89 billion allocated for education

QUETTA: The Balochistan government presented its Rs 198.39 billion budget in the provincial assembly on Thursday.

The budget was unveiled by Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch. The focus of the budget is education and law and order and Rs 34.89 billion and Rs 16.23 billion have been allocated respectively for them.

A 15 percent pay increase has also been recommended for government employees of Grade 1-16, while employees of Grade 17 and above will receive a 10 percent increase.

During his budget speech, Chief Minster Baloch said the focus of his government was to provide services to the residents of the province. He added that immediate steps would be taken to tackle corruption and stressed the importance of laying down the foundation for education on war footing.
