CEC says fulfilled responsibility to hold free, fair election

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibraheem says though there are no angels working in the electoral body, no major mistake was carried out while holding the general election, which eventually led to democratic transition of power.

Talking to media at the Lahore High Bar on Thursday, he advised those, who had been claiming poll rigging, should go to election tribunal and get the election void.

The CEC said that for the first time, election saw over 60 percent turn out with a large number of women using their right of franchise.

Ibraheem claimed that he had fulfilled his responsibility of holding free and fair election.
