ECP ready to hold local bodies election: CEC
LAHORE: Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim on Thursday said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was ready to hold local bodies election. Talking to journalists at the Lahore High Court, he said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, power had transferred from one democratic set-up to another. He said that some mistakes might have been committed during the electoral process, but they were not deliberate. For the first time, the voter turnout was 60 per cent and women in large numbers also exercised their right to vote, he added. app
