MQM at their sit-ins observing Friday as Youm-e-Dua

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supporters and workers’ protest sit-ins in several cities across the country including the mega-metropolis city here continued for the fourth consecutive day, Geo News reported.

Today being Friday, the Mothers of all days and the most virtuous in the sight of Allah, MQM observing it as Youm-e-Dua for the health and happiness of their Quaid, Altaf Hussain, who in London police custody, currently under treatment at the Wellington Hospital, London.

Thousands of men, women and children old and young people from different segments of the society are participating in the sit-ins despite scorching heat when the mercury has hit 48/50 degree Celsius in some cities of the province of Sindh.

In order to express solidarity towards MQM leader Altaf Hussain, the sit-ins by party workers and supporters of MQM Sukkur Zone continued for the 4th day outside the local press club where large number of people also joined in sympathy.

While in Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Larkana, Jacobabad, Mirpurkhas and other small towns in Sindh MQM workers and sympathizers in large number outside the local press clubs continued staging their sit-ins as usual for the fourth day undeterred by the baking summer heat.

MQM Quetta Zone also continued their sit-in outside Quetta press club for 4th day in a row, where representatives from different politcal parties besides Mama Qadeer, the leader of the long march for missing persons also attended the sit-in and expressed their solidarity with the MQM Quaid and prayed for his health and happiness.

It is significant to mention here that the protest started on Tuesday evening at Numaish Chowrangi intersection a few hours after TV channels aired news about ‘arrest’ of Altaf Hussain.

MQM leadership says the protest would continue “until release of Altaf Hussain.”
