ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has rejected criticism of Imran Khan against the government and said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is scared of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, the minister said that PTI knows that if Nawaz Sharif can make Pakistan a nuclear state, he can also turn Pakistan into a strong economy bringing prosperity to the people.
The minister said that the PTI has failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its one-year rule in the province so far. He also said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf wants to spread chaos and despondency in the country.
In a separate statement, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said that Imran Khan participated in the referendum and elections of 2002 held by then president Pervez Musharraf. In 2002 election, Imran was given one seat in charity, he said.
“Imran should tell how he got 30 seats this time,” the outspoken minister asked the PTI chairman. Imran invited PML-N’s criticism after holding a massive rally in Sialkot where he addressed thousands of his supporters on Saturday, calling upon the judiciary to investigate the last general elections.
