Modi terms Karachi attack ‘barbaric’

ISLAMABAD - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his grief at the latest terrorist assault at the Karachi airport, terming it as ‘barbaric.’
Modi made these remarks in a response letter written to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Earlier Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had written to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi expressing satisfaction over his recent meeting and said that he was looking forward to work with him in harmony to resolve all unsettled matters. Indian prime minister expressed sorrow at the loss of lives in the deadly Karachi attack over the weekend.
Modi again thanked Nawaz Sharif for his visit to India late last month to attend his swearing-in ceremony, saying the visit will strengthen democracy in the region. In the letter Modi wrote that he was hopeful that bilateral relations between Pakistan and India would be further improved, adding that he and his government were keen to work with Prime Minister Nawaz. Modi wrote that it was an honour for him to have Nawaz Sharif attend his oath taking ceremony. The Indian prime minister also thanked his Pakistani counterpart for the gift of ‘sari’ sent for his mother.
