ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Army – in the wake of terror threats – was deployed at key state installations in Islamabad on Sunday.
Over 250 personnel of two companies of the Pakistan Army started performing duties at sensitive installations including the President House, the Prime Minister’s House, Parliament Lodges and Diplomatic Enclave located in the Red Zone.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Interior Affairs had decided to hand over internal security of Islamabad to army following reports of the intelligence agencies which issued security warning of possible terrorists' attacks in the federal capital.
The reports said that the security has been beefed up to thwart the possible backlash of bombing targeting militants in Waziristan. Islamabad has been on high alert since attack on the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
