TMQ workers death: MQM announces day of ‘mourning’ on Wednesday
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to observe a day of mourning tomorrow (Wednesday) over the deaths of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) workers during clash with police, Geo News reported.
In a statement issued here Tuesday, MQM appealed to traders, industrialists, shopkeepers and transporters to participate in the day of mourning and shut their businesses voluntarily.
At least eight people were killed and several injured when police and TMQ workers clashed in Lahore. Minhajul Quran workers pelted police with stones and chanted slogans against the government as law enforces tried to remove blockades placed outside the secretariat of the organization and residence of Dr Tahirul Qadri.
