Won’t let Pakistan be made terrorists’ den
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday endorsed the military operation launched in North Waziristan, saying the country can’t be allowed to become a sanctuary of terrorists.“I support our armed forces on it,” he told the National Assembly on Monday. However, the PTI chief criticised the PML-N government for not taking his party into confidence before launching the operation. “I protest for not being taken on board as PTI was the party that supported PML-N government for dialogue with the militants,” Imran said, and added that he and his party chief minister in KP, the province which according to him is set to be affected the most during the military operation, were kept in ‘total dark’. The PTI chief said that he fully backed the armed forces in this military operation. “However, it looks odd to me that ISPR has announced the launch of military offensive. Whether in any democratic country it happens that military announces the launch of operation. Chief executive of the country has the authority to announce such big steps,” Khan pointed out. Imran said his party would have given valuable inputs to government had it been consulted prior to the launch of the military action.
