Gullu Butt thrashers are themselves Gullu Butt: Pervaiz Rasheed
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Pervaiz Rasheed Thursday said those who thrashed Gullu Butt today are themselves Gullu Butt.
Talking to media men here the Information Minister termed the Lahore incident as unfortunate and the culprits will be apprehended and brought to justice. “Gullu Butt has been presented before the court after arrest,” he added.
Gullu Butt is a man whose footage shown by the local news channels had later gone viral on social media sites. The video showed him holding a stick with which he smashed vehicles parked around the site of Tuesday’s clash between police and workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek in Lahore.
He said whatever recommendations come from the inquiry tribunal will be acted upon. “The tribunal’s report will soon be out,” he added
Pervaiz Rasheed called upon all the political parties to throw their weight behind the North Waziristan operation, adding, some parties are indulging in the politics of hostility.
He said presently the armed forces are engaged in the NWA operation, therefore, no dispute should be created at this stage. “It would be very inappropriate to engage in a talk of fire, destruction and torture,” he added.
He said getting demands fulfilled through bullet and riots is also terrorism.
Pervaiz Rasheed said it had already been decided that other options will be adopted in the case of failure of peace talks.
