Shahbaz Sharif says still in agony over Lahore tragedy

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif Saturday said his heart is still inundated by grief over the unfortunate incident of Model Town and that all necessary measures will be adopted to ensure supremacy of law and justice.

“I am accountable before Allah Almighty and 100 million people of the province,” Shahbaz Sharif said in his interaction with the members of provincial assembly here.

He said he would not tolerate any hurdle in the way of justice delivery and ensuring supremacy of the law.

“Mere doing of justice is not enough; it should also be visible to the eye,” the Punjab CM said.

He said the armed forces were engaged in fighting the war of Pakistan’s survival. “The entire nation is proud of the unmatched sacrifices rendered by Pakistan army,” he added.

Eight people had died and dozens others injured in a clash between workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and police during an anti-encroachment drive in Lahore on Tuesday.
