MQM will resist if Qadri arrested, says Gabol
Ex-minister demands Supreme Court-headed commission over Lahore tragedy

KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Nabil Gabol said on Saturday that the party would put up strong resistance if Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri was arrested upon his arrival.

Speaking to journalists, he said that the authoritative style of leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-N was damaging for the democratic system in Pakistan. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should withdraw the orders for Qadri's arrest, said Gabol, a former federal minister.

The MQM leader said a commission, comprising the Supreme Court judges, would be constituted to investigate the Model Town tragedy. Punjab Chief Minister SHahbaz Sharif should also appear before it, he said. He also said that Rana Sanaullah had been made a scapegoat over the Lahore incident.
