Food assistance provided to 22, 000 IDPs families: FDMA
ISLAMABAD: The government has so far provided financial assistance to 21 575 displaced families of North Waziristan besides providing food assistance to 22 000 families.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, Director FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) Farman Khilji said each registered displaced family due to disturbance in the area is given a cash assistance of twenty thousand rupees. In addition Rs 20 000 are also being given to each family as Ramazan package under directive of Prime Minister he added.
He said that four centres have been set up in Bannu where IDPs are being provided cooked food. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has released 114.6 million rupees to provide healthcare to IDPs in Bannu and adjoining districts with adequate staff and facilities he said.
