KP govt used police force for rigging LG polls: Sanaullah
INP

LAHORE - Punjab Law Minister and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah has said that mismanagement and rigging in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) local government elections exposed the police reforms as was being claimed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Rana Sanaullah alleged that the PTI-led government used police brute force for rigging during the local government polls in the province to get the desired results. He said recent local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were an episode of intra-party election of the PTI as both were marred with massive mismanagement.

The provincial law minister said arrest of PTI Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was a “Topi Drama” staged to avert attention of the arrest of ANP leader and former provincial minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain. Rana Sanaullah alleged that Gandapur was “getting VIP treatment while Mian Iftikhar was handcuffed” which exposed the double standard of the provincial government.

He urged the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to avoid misuse of power, and ensure implementation of laws without any discrimination.
