Official visit to China: Air chief calls on PLAAF commander

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman visited on Monday the headquarters of People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China.

On his arrival at the PLAAF Headquarters, a smartly turned-out contingent presented him the guard of honour.

The air chief was given a comprehensive briefing on the working of PLAAF. He also called on PLAAF Commander General Ma Xiaotian. Both remained together for sometime and discussed various matters of professional interest and bilateral cooperation. He also had meetings with the China Electronic Technology Corporation (CETC) president and China National Electronics Import & Export Corporation (CEIEC) President Qu Huimin.

Aman also met China Precision Machinery Import Export Corporation (CPMIEC) President Ji Yanshu, China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) President Zhi Yulin, the president of Aerospace Long March International Trade Co Ltd (ALIT), Polytech Inc Chairman Zhang Zhen Gao and State Administration for Science Technology and Industry for National Defence (SASTIND) Administrator Xu Zhanbin.

The air chief assured the Chinese officials of strengthening military as well as civilian cooperation between the two countries in general and the two air forces in particular. He is on a five-day official visit to China.
