Army chief says no need to worry about recent Indian attitude
Gen Sharif says Pakistan capable of responding to any form of aggression

ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday said that there was no reason to be worried about the recent attitude exhibited by India as the army was capable of responding to any form of aggression.

The army chief was talking to reporters after the joint session of parliament addressed by President Mamnoon Hussain. He said that the Pakistani army and other law enforcement agencies know fully well how to respond to aggression.

When asked about the security situation in Pakistan, the army chief responded that there had been an improvement and added that the security situation would further improve in the days to come. Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani who was also present on the occasion informed the Gen Sharif about the functioning of the parliament and said that the Senate has been opened.

The army chief appreciated the performance of the parliament. The Senate chairman and Gen Sharif also informally exchanged views about operation Zarb-e-Azb, Karachi operation and over all law and order situation in Pakistan.
