Govt to spend Rs 3bn on new Gwadar International Airport

ISLAMABAD - The government will spend Rs 3 billion during the fiscal year 2015-16 to construct new Gwadar International Airport, Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar said on Friday.
“Keeping in view the significant role Gwadar has to play for strengthening the economy in the coming days, the government takes the development of this area very seriously,” Dar said in his budget speech.
He said accordingly, allocations were being made for a host of development projects, adding that provision of Rs 2 billion has been made for Gwadar Development Authority.
