Rs 20.70 billion allocated for National Health Services

ISLAMABAD: The government has allocated an amount of Rs 20.701928 billion for the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination under Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) in the next financial year 2015-16.
According to a budgetary document released by the government on Friday, out of the total allocation, an amount of Rs 3.558027 billion has been allocated for new projects.
An amount of Rs 7.645 billion has been earmarked for the National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Healthcare, while Rs 3 billion have been allocated for Prime Minister’s National Health Insurance Programme.
Moreover, Rs 1.859409 billion have been allocated for Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), Control of Diarrhoeal Disease (CDD) and National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad.
Similarly, Rs 725.378 million have been allocated for National Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Programme (MNCH). In addition to that, Rs 538.027 million have been earmarked for a cancer hospital in Islamabad.
The government has allocated a sum of Rs 474.553 million for the Prime Minister’s Programme for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis. An amount of Rs 223.356 million has been allocated for the Population Welfare Programme, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
