Shahbaz Sharif announces shuttle service for twin cities
ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday announced to launch a shuttle service for the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus project that will initially operate from 14 spots.
Talking to media, the chief minister said Islamabad and Rawalpindi could now be aptly called twin cities after the completion of the Metro Bus project.
“We are starting a shuttle service from 14 locations for access to the Metro bus in minimum time, keeping in view its effectiveness and popularity,” he said.
He said that the government intended to extend the shuttle service in the next phase.
Renaming the project from Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus to Pakistan Metro, he said the project would become a symbol of federal unity.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif took a ride of the Metro bus, and sought passengers’ suggestions with regard to the project.
