Pakistan biggest contributor in UN peacekeeping missions: Nawaz
DUSHANBE: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said the country was the largest collaborator in the United Nations’ peacekeeping operations and vowed to continue efforts for the world peace.
Speaking with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines of “Water for Life Conference 2015” being held here, he said his country acknowledges the role being played by the UN secretary general for the global peace and stability.
The prime minister further demanded of the UNSG to also play his role for peace in South Asia. He urged Ban ki-moon for early implementation of the UN resolutions, passed over Kashmir dispute.
“Implementation of its resolutions is UN Security Council’s legal responsibility,” he said.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, and Special Advisor to the PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatimi was accompanying the premier on the occasion.
