Nawaz, Ban discuss UN peace missions

DUSHANBE - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here in Dushanbe on Tuesday.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan would continue its support to UN efforts for peace and stability in the world.

The prime minister said Pakistan was the largest contributor in UN peace missions. He said role in UN peace contingents was an important part of Pakistan’s foreign policy. Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan was following zero tolerance policy against terrorism.

The UN secretary general appreciated Pakistan’s stance against terrorism, saying that Pakistan was an important ally of the UN in combating terrorism in its all forms and manifestations.
