PM seeks immediate report on working conditions of INGOs
INP
ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday directed the high-level inter-ministerial committee, set up under Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, for reviewing laws and regulations regarding accreditation and working conditions of international non-government organisations (INGOs) working in Pakistan to submit their report expeditiously.
The prime minister has sought immediate report from the committee. It is worth mentioning that several NGOs are under the radars of the government as it is apprehended that they work for the interest of different countries and organisations instead of carrying out humanitarian task.
The government a few days back ordered Save the Children to pack up, but under pressure from the US and UK allowed it to continue working temporarily.
