‘This is our army, our institute; you will stay for three years and leave’

ISLAMABAD - Following allegations of corruption, land-grabbing, smuggling of Iranian oil, and extortion by the paramilitary forces, former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari warned the establishment that he would expose everything if defamation campaign didn’t stop.

Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of PPP workers of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Zardari threatened the country's establishment with dire consequences like “exposing the corruption of former generals”. Zardari said the military generals' tenures were no longer than a few years, but political parties virtually last forever.

He said the PPP had the strength to shake everything in the country. “If we wish, not only Sindh, everything from Karachi to FATA will be blocked. Some say that government could have been removed if PPP had tendered resignations along with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),” he added.
