Jamali wants free hand to Rangers in Balochistan, Sindh
INP
ISLAMABAD - Former prime minister and MNA Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has suggested free hand to Rangers in Balochistan and Sindh to control law and order situation.
Taking part in the budget debate, Jamali said the country should have full time foreign and defence ministers in view of the sensitive situation in and around the country. He said India was Pakistan’s known enemy, and the civilian government and military leadership should be on the same page to counter the aggressive statements by the Indian leadership.
Jamali took strong exception to the criticism of Rangers in Sindh Assembly, and said there was no justification to make the Rangers controversial when the force was called by the provincial government. He emphasised that the establishment must be given due respect.
In a reference to the protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over alleged rigging in the elections, the former prime minister said they (PTI) should not put the whole country in trouble and wait for the next elections. “If the PTI has any proof of rigging then it should be presented before the judicial commission,” he said.
He said the PTI left the house after lot of hue and cry and then returned and demanded that they should be made to answer for conspiring against parliament. He asked Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to inform the house as to why the targets of last year could not be achieved. Jamali asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take steps for the provision of clean water in Jaffarabad and Nasirabad.
