Ghaus quits PML-N, plans new party
SUKKUR: Former Sindh chief minister and veteran politician Ghaus Ali Shah on Tuesday announced his decision to formally part ways with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“I have no association with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif anymore,” Shah said as he announced the establishment of a new party of disgruntled Muslim League factions. “We will unite all Muslim League factions at one platform,” he said, adding that the alliance would be formally set up after the Eidul Fitr. “Nawaz Sharif is the leader of Punjabis. He had raised slogans of “Jaag Punjabi Jaag’ in the past,” he recalled. The veteran politician said that he had separately met Pervez Musharraf, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pir Pagara and discussed the issue. He said that he spoke to Ziaul Haq and nine other factions of Muslim League.
