PM directs urgent measures to improve power supply
INP

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the Ministry of Water and Power to take all out urgent steps to address the power supply situation for mitigating the people's sufferings at the earliest.

The prime minister called Secretary Water and Power Younus Dagha to the Prime Minister’s House and sought briefing on the loadshedding situation in Pakistan. He was informed that there had been an unprecedented surge in power demand on the first day of Ramazan which necessitated some forced loadshedding.

The secretary said that the situation could only be brought under control if the demand decreased.
