Dr Qadri to reach Lahore on June 29
LAHORE – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri will reach Lahore on June 29, a meeting of the Minhajul Quran officials announced on Saturday.
The PAT chief will land in Lahore at 7am, the gathering announced. According to sources, the return of Dr Qadri would mark the beginning of PAT-led protests against power outages in the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that in December 2012, after living for seven years in Toronto, Canada, Qadri returned to Pakistan and initiated a political campaign. Qadri called for a "million men" march in Islamabad to protest against the government's corruption.
The PAT chief left for Dubai on October 28, 2014, following a “70-day sit-in”. It had earlier been reported that Dr Qadri would be travelling abroad to collect funds for PAT protests and sit-ins.
