NewsExperts recommend artificial rain for Karachi
KARACHI: A high-level meeting of experts was held at the DG Ports and Shipping office on Tuesday to come up with the solution of creating artificial rain for Karachi.
Among the participants were officials from the Met Office, Plant Production Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the business community, and representatives of the district administration.
Artificial rain specialists told the meeting participants that ‘sodium chloride’ is sprayed on clouds which are at a height of 2000 to 4000 feet, which creates rain after three hours.
The meeting was also informed that Plant Production Department aircraft and Army aviation aircraft would be used to spray the sodium chloride on the clouds.
The experts also said that the same method was used successfully in 2000 in Thar.
