Parliamentary committee to meet regarding ECP members' appointment
ISLAMABAD: The parliamentary committee will hold an important meeting regarding the appointment of members of the Election Commission on Friday.
This will be the first meeting of the committee after their restructuring. According to details, the committee's first meeting was to be held yesterday but was then delayed.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has restructured the committee for the selection of Election Commissioner and members of the Election Commissioner of Pakistan.
According to the notification, PTI's Shah Mahmood Qureshi has replaced Shaharyar Afridi while Senator Pervez Rasheed has been included in the committee in the place of Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq. Before this, Nawab yusuf Talpur had been included in place of Ayaz Soomro while Zahid Hamid had been included in place of Captain Safdar.
The parliamentary committee consists of twelve members.
