Model Town tragedy: Qadri demands justice through military court
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri has demanded justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy through military court.
Addressing the participants of sit-in against the Model Town incident here late Friday, Qadri held Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif responsible for the massacre.
PAT Chief went on to say, “Our demand is justice and qisas (retribution) for the martyrs of Model Town.”
He said Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharifl helped in lodging FIR of the incident during their sit-in, now the COAS should provide us justice through military court.
Qadri termed brutal police firing in which 14 people were killed and dozens injured as “terrorism” and urged for justice through military court.
He announced to defer sit-in till Eid-ul-Fitr and asked his followers to leave the site after Farj prayers.
Pakistan People’s Party leader Latif Khosa, Manzoor Watto, PTI leader Chaudhry Sarwar, Awami Muslim League chief Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed, leaders of PML-Q and MQM also attended the sit-in.
