Baba Guru Nanak University on cards on demands of Sikhs
LAHORE: Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq said on Thursday that arms race in the region was not in favour of any country.
Addressing the main ceremony of Sikh pilgrims regarding martyrdom day of Guru Arjun Dev Jee ‘Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib’ at Gurdwara Dera Sahib, he said THAT resolution of the Kashmir issue would help resolve other issues between Pakistan and India. He added that issues between Pakistan and India could be resolved through peace and love. The chairman also said that Sikh pilgrims would be welcomed whenever they will visit their holy places in Pakistan.
He said that all minorities living in Pakistan hold complete liberty and rights to practice their rituals. He advised the Sikh community to forge unity over Nanak Shahi Calender. He welcomed all Pardhans of the Sikh Community of the world to come to Nankana Sahib on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanka Sahib and resolve the problem. Siddiqul alos said that demands of the Sikh pilgrims would be fulfilled. He said that work in connection with setting up of Baba Guru Nanak University had been completed and the university would be inaugurated in November. The pilgrims would leave for India through a special train on Friday.
