PM tenders apology on childbirth remarks
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Monday tendered an apology on his remarks about a childbirth in an auto rickshaw during President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Quetta.
Prime Minister Gilani said his remarks were portrayed by the media in a negative manner.
It may be reminded here that the prime minister had remarked in a humorous manner that a child could be born anywhere.
He said that his sister-in-law was also born in a car and it is all matter of fate.
Gilani said that there would be no change in the government’s economic policies after the resignation of Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin. The policies would continue, he said.
“Shaukat Tarin has stepped down as finance minister due to personal reasons. He was not removed by the government.
He said new Finance Minister is being appointed, but his name is being kept confidential.
