Former PSM chairman Usman Farooqui acquitted
KARACHI: An Anti Corruption Court in Karachi has acquitted former chairman Pakistan Steel Mills Usman Farooqui in corruption case.
The reference was filed against him and three others in 1995 for misappropriation in purchase of raw material that caused 176million loss to national exchequer.
The petitioner's counsel, Advocate Raza Hashmi, told the court that all other co-defendants in the case had been acquitted due to lack of evidence.
And the petitioner was not the chairman when this transaction was made in fact former chairman Sajid Hussain approved it and none of the witnessed blamed my counsel, Hashmi added.
The judge then ended his bail and announced acquittal of Usman Farooqui.
