PPP, MQM agree on LB polls: JB

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) General Secretary Jahangir Badar said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) struck reconciliation over Local Bodies elections in Sindh, Geo News reported Saturday.

Jahangir Badar said this while talking to media after hearing of reference cases at a Lahore Accountability Court regarding illegal assets and unauthorized recruitments.

He said the same reconciliatory atmosphere could not be created with Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) in Punjab.

Badar said the PPP will support PML-N candidate in the by-elections to enhance the reconciliatory process, adding PML-N is sure to win NA-123 seat.

Hafiz Salman Butt’s claim is misplaced, as the PPP is not in alliance with Jamaat Islami.

Reacting to Punjab Governor Salman Taseer’s statement against Mian Nawaz Sharif, Jahangir stressed he respects the leaders of all political parties, as this would lead democracy to be strengthened.
