US authorities assured review of screening practice: FO
ISLAMABAD: The US administration had assured Pakistan that they would review the practice of screening Pakistani citizens at their airports, Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Abdul Basit said on Sunday. In a brief telephonic interview to a private television channel, the FO spokesman said Pakistan had lodged a strong protest with the US authorities when the new screening procedure was announced, adding that the US had assured Islamabad at the time that they would look into the matter and respond favourably. He said the Pakistani leadership had also asked for the review of this practice when the US dignitories had visited Pakistan. However, they were still awaiting a response. app
