Cotecna reference: warrants re-issued against foreign directors
RAWALPINDI: A Rawalpindi’s Accountability Court re-issued the warrants against six foreign directors accused in the Cotecna reference case against President Asif Ali Zardari, Nusrat Bhutto, A. R. Siddiqui and others.
Accountability Court-1 heard Polo Ground reference and adjourned till March 24. It is expected that accused Ex-chief Commissioner Islamabad Saeed Mehdi would be charged during the next hearing.
Accountability Court-2 adjourned the hearing of SGS case till March 18 without any headway regarding accused AR Siddiqui, as he was absent today.
Accountability Court-3 heard the Cotecna Reference case and issued again the warrants of six accused foreign directors. The court accorded AR Siddiqui the exemption from appearing before the court in the next hearing.
Further hearing was adjourned till April 2.
The court asked the details regarding health of Nusrat Bhutto co-accused in the case.
It may be mentioned here that President Asif Ali Zardari enjoys immunity in this reference under article 248 of the Constitution and therefore, no action is being taken against him.
