Nawaz rules out alliance with MQM
LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Saturday denied any possibility of the party forging an alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), terming all such reports ‘baseless’.
Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by PML-N UK chapter chief Zubair Gul, he called for complete implementation of the Charter of Democracy (CoD), lamenting the fact that many of the CoD’s clauses had still not been enforced.
Calling for the abolition of the 17th Amendment without further delay, the PML-N chief said the repeal of the amendment would help strengthen democracy in the country. app
