Pak-Iran gas pipeline HoA to be signed Tuesday
ISLAMABAD: The Heads of Agreement for Pak-Iran gas pipeline project will be signed on Tuesday.
Secretary Petroleum Kamran Lashari has proceeded to Turkey to participate in the signing ceremony, said the officials of the Petroleum Ministry while giving briefing to the Senate Committee for Petroleum.
Senator Sabir Baloch presided over the meeting.
The Petroleum Ministry’s officials told the meeting that a circular debt of Rs250 billion exisits in the oil sector and that an amount of Rs317 billion will needed for the next five months for oil import.
They said oil worth Rs26 billion is being supplied every month for generation of electricity.
They cited circular debt of oil sector as a major hurdle in the improvement of power distribution.
